Onboard intelligence with EVC

Volvo Penta engines are controlled and monitored by the common electronic platform EVC (Electronic Vessel Control). It is an integrated system using heavy-duty marine connectors to connect controls and instruments in an efficient way. This leads to radically reduced wiring. Furthermore, it makes it easy to install extra functionality such as instrumentation.

Flexible instrumentation
Thanks to the CAN-bus technology, it is possible to install multiple displays and provide access to engine data at up to four spots onboard. And with the NMEA 2000 interface, engine data can also be displayed in a compatible chart plotter.

Multi-information displays and trip computer software
For the D3 and D4 engines, EVC offers even more features. The trip computer software provides you with all the necessary trip information; fuel rate, trip time, average fuel rate, and estimated remaining time to empty. This is a great way of taking control of your fuel consumption to reduce environmental impact and save money.
You can also equip your boat with a 4 or 7 inch multi-information display. Both provide you with a lot of usable data through a user-friendly and customizable interface.
