Volvo Penta is presenting a comprehensive range of SOLAS approved engines (M.E.D. and US Coast Guard) for fast life- and rescue boats. The range comprises three base engines, with no less than 14 output options from 110 to 435 hp, all of which are in-line diesels with common rail and the latest in electronic management for sterndrive, inboard and water jet propulsion.

Performer will soon be delivered to Northern Offshore Services in Sweden and will go straight into duty in an offshore wind power park south of Denmark. Performer lives up to her name by providing full service speed with a full load and in rough seas, thanks to twin Volvo Penta IPS1050 pods.

Volvo Penta is introducing a new series of electronic controls with an integrated push-button panel for easy control of different functions. Ergonomic styling with a comfortable palm rest, indicator lamps and robust design are other features.

Volvo Penta introduced the function tow mode for their gasoline Aquamatic range last year and it became an instant hit. Now it is also available for the diesel Aquamatics.

Last year, Volvo Penta introduced its most powerful engine ever – the 900 hp D13 – an immediate success that is now being followed by an 800 hp version. The engine is in fact a direct successor to the legendary D12-800, only more powerful, more fuel-efficient and cleaner.

Volvo Penta IPS for offshore sportfishing is a brilliant example of the company’s ability to adapt to customer requirements. Developed together with leading sportfishers, IPS now offers three specific sportfishing functions, making it perfect for big game fishing.

Together with the new series of controls, Volvo Penta is now introducing single-lever mode for all twin engine installations (IPS also triple and quadruple).
