The Aquamatic Story

The aquamatic story

A proven success

The Aquamatic story begins back in the early 50s. It was then that marine engineer Jim Wynne decided that it was time for a change. He started working on an alternative propulsion solution that could combine inboard performance with the maneuvering benefits of an outboard. He finished his first prototype based on a BB70 Penta inboard in March of 1958. And the rest – all the way to today’s high-performance Aquamatic Sterndrives – is a true success story.
