Volvo Penta is starting wholly owned operations in Poland through the acquisition of its independent importer, Marco Motors.

Volvo Penta in Brazil has received orders for auxiliary engines and complete genset systems from two shipyards in Rio de Janeiro. The shipyards build and refit ships under contract to Companhia de Navegação Norsul, one of Brazil’s largest privately-owned shipping companies.

Volvo Penta introduces a new range of powerful, compact and fuel-efficient marine engines in the 9-litre range. The new D9 heavy duty is available in three power settings for propulsion – 300, 350 and 425 horsepower – and as complete marine generating sets.

Together with the latest technology the new D6 and D4 engines from Volvo Penta offer entirely new speed and performance levels as well as very low exhaust emissions. The range also includes powerful inboard engines.

Volvo Penta is listed as the total supplier of engines and propeller driveshaft systems for an exclusive megayacht being built in Ukraine. The vessel is fitted with every conceivable convenience and will have the capacity to sail both in the Mediterranean and the Arctic Ocean.
