But the novelty is that Volvo Penta now introduces Start/Stop functionality for industrial engines – and helps operators reduce fuel with up to an impressive 5% – or more.

With the introduction of a number of new engine variants, Volvo Penta can now offer the mining industry a complete range of engines approved for underground mining applications. The selection of nine Tier 2 engines and nine Tier 4i engines – which provide outstanding ventilation rates – enable manufacturers and users of mining equipment to make the perfect Volvo Penta engine choice.
