The Brazilian boat builder Schaefer Yachts is now setting its sights on the European leisure boat market. In conjunction with the Gothenburg Boat Show, Schaefer Yachts is showing several new boats powered by Volvo Penta engines.
The international boat press is praising Volvo Penta’s new engines to the skies. The entire new range has been exhibited at the large boat fairs in London and Düsseldorf and is now on display at the Boat Show in Gothenburg.
The Shipman 50 sailboat has been named “Yacht of the Year” in Europe. The yacht is delivered with Volvo Penta’s D2-55 diesel engine, which will also be installed in the racing yachts competing in the next Volvo Ocean Race.
A successful Volvo Penta re-powering project has contributed to improved material handling in the port of Thamesport outside London. Volvo Penta´s 16 litre diesel engines have been able to reduce the downtime of the port´s gantry cranes by more than 50 percent.
High performance, low fuel consumption, minimal vibrations and low exhaust emissions have made Volvo Penta’s D12 engine highly attractive for commercial users.
