There are a growing number of leisure boats in Thailand with Volvo Penta state-of-the-art power systems. The Volvo Penta dealer network is getting ready to service these boats.

The new TAD1650VE diesel engine is Volvo Penta’s latest and most powerful engine for off-road and stationary applications. The engine combines impressive power and torque with exhaust emissions that comply with the world’s most stringent regulations: EPA/CARB Tier 3 and EU Stage 3.

Volvo Penta’s new 250-350 kWe power generation engine is a completely new, high-tech design. It satisfies the toughest existing emissions requirements – EPA/CARB Tier 3. The Volvo Penta TAD1350 series is very reliable and durable, and is manufactured in one of the world’s most advanced and quality-assured plants.

At the Europort trade show, Volvo Penta is presenting a 5 to 16-litre range for inland waterways duty, covering both propulsion engines and complete marine gensets.

The D16 was introduced as a marine genset one and a half years ago and quickly became a success. Now it is also available with radiator cooling. The new model has been developed for emergency and in-harbour duties aboard merchant ships as well as offshore applications.

Rodman was one of the first boat builders in the world to adopt Volvo Penta’s IPS system. As early as in January, 2005, the company launched its 41-foot flybridge yacht with IPS. This pioneering spirit has paid off. Sales have grown considerably and today, the company has five models with IPS and has delivered more than 150 boats with the system to customers.

Volvo Penta in Turkey has received an order for 20 marine gensets with 16-liter engines and five emergency power units with 7-liter engines. The engines will be installed in new, more environmentally friendly ferry boats that will be placed in service in the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara.

Volvo Penta has started an entirely new distribution system for spare parts in Russia. The system is strategically important on a growing market in which Volvo Penta’s engine sales are rising sharply.

Volvo Penta IPS has met with resounding success. After just over two years, the system is now installed in more than 100 boat models from 30 to 75 feet by leading boat builders the world over.

Volvo Penta IPS is highly suited for sport fishing. The stern is unobstructed and the propellers are located under the hull where the risk of the line becoming entangled is minimal. Volvo Penta is now launching a function that has been specially developed for deep sea sport fishing, the “sport fish mode”.
