With Volvo Penta IPS driving is a lot easier than with inboard shafts – and much more fun. The new larger units are no different, except for the fact that you can enjoy the same excellent driving characteristics in yachts up to 100+ feet.
The secret is in the steerable pods, pointing the entire thrust in the desired direction. They react immediately and precisely to driver commands, the turning radius is tight and tracking is absolutely straight. All this for a safe and pleasurable ride.
Perfect control
Volvo Penta IPS is available with a range of features to be tailored for your personal needs – making maneuvering completely intuitive. The joystick lets you steer the boat in any direction, even sideways, or spin around on the spot. Up to four joysticks can be installed, making it possible to dock from the aft deck.
The Dynamic Positioning System holds your position – an excellent function when waiting at the fuel dock, for example. Low-speed mode lets you reduce the idling speed by half to facilitate driving in tight marinas or canals.
Sportfish mode
Sportfish mode is your new partner for big game fishing. A function that uses the possibilities of the steerable pods in a unique way. By making them face toe-out, the boat can turn extremely quickly to make it easy to follow the fish – and to bring it home.
