Extended Coverage Improves Uptime and Efficiency

For industrial off-road and genset applications, optimum uptime is crucial. Volvo Penta now makes it even easier to manage and control engine and machine uptime with a new extended coverage program for owners and operators of Volvo Penta powered installations.

Product quality has been a Volvo Penta hallmark for decades, and customers have grown to expect reliable performance and long life from their engines. Over the years, Volvo Penta has complimented its engine range with service and support offerings that help operators maximize performance and uptime — including the new Industrial Extended Coverage (IXC) program.

“With Industrial Extended Coverage, we have introduced a program that allows operators and equipment manufacturers to not only protect themselves against downtime, but to also tailor the agreement in accordance with their specific conditions and requirements”, says Ed Monacchio, vice president of aftermarket and customer support for Volvo Penta of the Americas. “The IXC can also make OEM products powered by Volvo Penta even more attractive for their end users.”

Predictability and control
The IXC, which can be engaged anytime within the first three months after the start of operations, applies when the Volvo Penta international limited warranty or national warranty has expired. Extended coverage coupled with preventive maintenance packages that can be customized for each engine’s particular needs and working conditions, allows operators and manufacturers to take control of operational costs for better predictability. The IXC provides optimum flexibility, with coverage adapted to operating hours, years and components.

Focus on uptime
The program’s only requirement for operators is ensuring that service is carried out according to the set maintenance schedule throughout the limited warranty and extended coverage periods. Volvo Penta’s global industrial network of authorized service dealers are available to provide comprehensive service and support to operators all over the world. During the IXC period, they can provide all necessary preventive maintenance, as well as a range of Volvo Genuine Parts.
