Italian boatbuilder, Cranchi, unveils its largest yacht yet at the Düsseldorf International Boat Show – powered by Volvo Penta.
This week, Cranchi revealed its new 78-foot yacht at boot Düsseldorf. The Cranchi Settantotto, as the yacht is named, is the largest yacht the company has ever built and drives the company into a new yachting segment – superyachts.
“We are amazed at how well the Settantotto was received during the reveal at the show,” commented Guido Cranchi, CEO Cranchi Yachts. “Customers described the superyacht as simply beautiful, which is always our aim.”
Volvo Penta and Cranchi’s partnership spans more than 50 years so it was no surprise that they worked closely to develop this flagship yacht. This is the first Cranchi yacht to have a triple Inboard Performance System (IPS) installation – Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350. It is also the first of the company’s boats to have an IPS 30 drive – the largest drive in the Volvo Penta IPS family. The D13-IPS1350 has a compact configuration and is capable of delivering great power whilst complementing the design of the yacht’s hull. Volvo Penta’s attention to detail extends through the whole design process all the way down to the use of light and resistant fibers: ensuring that the Settantotto maintains lower consumption, greater autonomy, optimal peak speed, reduced vibrations and noise, comfort, reliability and durability.
Like Volvo Penta, Cranchi strives for outstanding precision when it comes to its entire yachting range. The company is at the cutting edge of boat building with a workshop where dozens of robots work alongside its motivated workforce, and the results are evident. The yacht has already been met with huge admiration from customers at boot Düsseldorf. Cranchi have really made a great debut into the superyachting segment.
