With Volvo Penta’s Easy Connect boating app for leisure as well as commercial applications, you can stay connected to your vessel or fleet, wherever you are. Monitor, plan ahead or send crucial engine data directly to your service dealer. You get complete control of your vessel’s engine status – and much more – straight to your smartphone or tablet.
Easy Connect is an app-based tool that provides you with a portable dashboard. The app communicates directly with your engine and driveline via an onboard Bluetooth® interface. This means that you get an instant overview of engine status presented in an intuitive interface on your smart phone or tablet. Once Easy Connect has been installed, you will receive continuous updates through the app that will unlock even more features and functions.
Easy Connect is easy to use – and easy to install in two quick steps. All you need is the app, and the Easy Connect Interface installed in your boat. Once connected, the Interface transmits the information to your smart device via Bluetooth®, turning you and your device into perfect partners.

Easy Connect provides instant access to engine data, but it also stores it for proactive usage like route planning or monitoring of fuel consumption. The cloud service allows access from multiple devices – on board as well as on land – for both fleet owners and service dealers.
The app presents your data in an easy, intuitive interface that will add new levels of convenience to your operation, no matter if you’re leisurely cruising or managing a commercial fleet.
The Easy Connect app summarizes all the information on the status of your driveline. This information, which includes chassis ID, engine hours, diagnostic fault codes as well as installed features or components, can be easily emailed to your service dealer via the in-built sharing function.
You can easily personalize your display mode. By default, My View provides you with vital engine data, but you can easily configure the view to fit your personal requirements and the data you deem most relevant.
With the Map View you can check your current position and the route you have traveled. As an option, you can use navigation charts from Navionics for further precision.
Easy Connect is capable of showing additional data – such as average fuel consumption, distance to empty, speed and travel distance – if you have a trip computer installed in your boat.
Route data is stored locally in the app. In the Home View, it’s easily accessible for planning future trips or checking fuel consumption for past trips. Should you want to share info about past journeys, this is easily done.

The Easy Connect Interface includes NMEA2000 functionality. This means it can also be connected to an existing NMEA network within the boat. This enables you to access additional data from i.e. speed and depth sensors. In addition, the Easy Connect Interface can be used to convert engine data into NMEA2000 compatible chart plotters/multi-function displays onboard.

Contact your Volvo Penta dealer who can help you to identify your engine’s compatibility with Easy Connect. Easy Connect is compatible with a wide range of marine leisure Volvo Penta engines from the year 2003 and later. For marine commercial applications, Easy Connect is compatible with engines from the year 2010 onwards.
D1 and D2 produced 2007 and later in single and twin non EVC installations. Note! Diagnostic trouble codes are not available in the Easy Connect app for D1 and D2. For details see the compatibility list above.
