INDUSTRIAL ENGINE EMISSION TECHNOLOGY VOLVO PENTA

VOLVO PENTA INDUSTRIAL EMISSION TECHNOLOGY

ENGINEERED FOR THE FUTURE

Volvo Penta industrial engine emission technology is based on more than 100 years of engineering experience and innovation of the entire Volvo Group. At Volvo Penta, we take pride in offering our customers optimized solutions for each emission legislation step. Developing new and advanced products while improving existing ones is a source of pride for the entire Volvo brand. As a supplier of industrial diesel engines, we have a responsibility to reduce our products’ environmental footprint and meet emission legislation – working towards a better tomorrow.

MEETING EMISSION REGULATIONS

Volvo Penta diesel engines are designed to meet international legislations, aimed at reducing exhaust emissions. They are a powerful solution to meet wide range of emission regulations across the world. We pay special attention to diesel fuel efficiency, total cost of ownership, emission technology and more to design products with sustainability in mind.

We adapt our diesel engine technology for industrial machines to take the demands of regional markets into account in every stage of the process. This includes production and throughout the complete lifetime of products.

STAGE V ENGINES VOLVO PENTA

VOLVO PENTA STAGE V ENGINES

The latest step when it comes to emission legislation for industrial engines and applications is Stage V. To find the necessary solutions, Volvo Penta has performed in-depth evaluations of customer needs and legislation demands to offer our customers optimized technology that thoroughly fulfills their operational needs. Volvo Penta utilizes SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and light EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology for a range of benefits – including easy installation, reduced carbon dioxide (NOx) emissions and more.

STAGE IV/TIER 4 FINAL ENGINES VOLVO PENTA

VOLVO PENTA STAGE IV/TIER 4 FINAL ENGINES

Volvo Penta’s Stage IV/Tier 4 Final engines use SCR to meet the increased legislative demands of industrial engines. Not only are the emission regulations met, but this technology pairs with a light EGR system to offer a wide range of benefits. Apart from lowered nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, this solution means less maintenance and upkeep for customers, as well as better productivity and uptime and lower costs. Diesel fuel efficiency is also improved.

STAGE II & III/TIER 2 & 3 ENGINES VOLVO PENTA

VOLVO PENTA STAGE II & III/TIER 2 & 3 ENGINES

In order to keep emissions down and meet the regulations of Stage II & III/Tier 2 & 3, Volvo Penta chose to work with robust engine construction with low complexity. The solid engine design together with the high power fuel injection system and leads to efficient combustion and lowered fuel consumption. The low complexity diesel engine also benefits easier installation and maximized uptime.

VOLVO PENTA ENGINE SUSTAINABILITY

TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY

Because environmental care is one of Volvo Penta’s core values, we actively work to develop efficient resources and products with low environmental impact. However, sustainability means more to us than just regulations and exhaust emission levels. We equally value the impact that it has on our customers. This is why we develop products that have the total cost of ownership in mind – from fuel economy, to ease of installations and maximized uptime. The latest advances in technology are employed so that our diesel engines can meet the regulations for emission legislation.

ABOUT EMISSION REGULATIONS

Aligned regulations have been established across the world that limit emissions from vehicles and engines that impact the environment and air quality. This includes carbon monoxide (CO), hydro carbons (HC) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. These regulations guide engine manufacturers to continuously improve diesel engine technology to gradually reduce these emissions as new standards progress. This regulatory framework also determines what kind of engine is required to meet advancing standards required in every part of the world.

Volvo Penta not only meets engine emission standards, but also provides considerable benefits to both OEMs and end users. They will see a significant impact to their total cost of ownership with enhanced productivity, fuel efficiency, uptime and lowered maintenance costs. On top of these benefits, Volvo Penta benefits from Volvo Group’s global service and logistics network. This allows us to supply our customers with the support and service they need – no matter where they are.
